If you read this blog then you know I visited Puerto Rico for the first time this year and fell in love with the place ... the stunning turquoise sea and beautiful historic city of Old San Juan.
Images from that trip remind me of the overwhelming urge I had while there to live life by really inhabiting my days.
When you walk through Old San Juan every sense is tapped ...
the sights of the colorful buildings, flowers, and waterfront,
the sounds of music pouring from homes, bars, and people playing guitar al fresco,
the smells of dinner wafting from every open home and restaurant.
I was struck by how people are sitting in the evenings on their balconies with their beautiful old wooden doors open to the balmy night, sparkly old chandeliers softly lighting the interiors of their apartments, listening to and participating in the city coming alive.
Every time I look at the images from that trip I'm reminded to live, rather than simply exist.
This black and white photo of a woman (love that) quietly fishing on a peaceful evening from the rustic wooden pier over the water in Old San Juan really captures that vibe ... so serene, so present for the moment.
You can bring that serenity and the image home by visiting Beach Bum Chix and ordering the print now. We'll have it on its way to you pronto, fresh from the sea.
